“Feel your mind and body melt in Melissa’s healing sanctuary!”

Melissa's Mission

I am a Certified Family Massage Therapist, and I offer a healing sanctuary to melt away stress and pain. Each session I make sure to communicate with each individual upfront about the focus of that day and strive to be centered and intuitive enough to feel the muscle or scar tissue that needs work. I try to sense the perfect amount of pressure allowing each muscle fiber to melt back into a normal perfect physical state to bring blood flow back into the area, and strongly encourage feedback. I work with men and women and have a passion for working with families during and after the pregnancy year. I teach Loving Touch Infant Massage® to new parents and caregivers.

Melissa's Background

I worked as a veterinary technician since 1996. I was introduced to alternative medicine in  2002 when my dog, Sasha, had her anterior cruciate ligament repaired and the veterinarian that I worked for offered massage, acupuncture, and physical therapy along sided the traditional pain medications. I saw the speed and ease of recovery from surgery that I had not seen in other patients without alternative medicine. I saw decreased drug use, decreased recovery time, and stress reduction. I realized through my training and also receiving massage on a monthly basis that routine maintenance massage is part of the physical and mental equation of being healthy. Massage brings balance to the body, along with eating healthy, exercising, drinking enough water, and getting enough rest.

Melissa's Training

I became a Certified Massage Therapist in 2004, licensed for massage in the city of Davis, and insured through ABMP. I am a member of the American Pregnancy Massage Association and the Capital City Doulas network as an affiliate. In 2012 I became a Certified Infant Massage Instructor CIMI® through the International Loving Touch of Foundation, a national accredited program. I am continually taking continued education courses to help my clients.
